Is NIPROS/S26 exclusive for PMW-EX3?

Yes, it is. It is designed for PMW-EX3 and HVR-Z7.
NIPROS/S26 also can be used with the Sony hand held camcorder, PMW-EX1/1R, HVR-Z5, HXR-NX5.
NIPROS/S26 is designed for Sony RCP700 protocol and LANC protocol.

What is the maximum transmission distance of the NIPROS/S26?

Approx. 330 feet (100m), with DC power through a 26-pin cable.
The distance may vary depending on the fiber cable manufacture and operational circumstances.
Note: Longer runs are possible with local power.

What cables are included in the package?

The NIPROS/S26 system includes the following interconnection cables:
- BNC cable x1: 3.3 feet (100cm) for monitor connection
- (BNC-RCA plug x3: for HD component connection(RCA cables)
- 6-pin cable x1: approx. for monitor connection
- 8-pin remote cable x1: for camera remote connection
- LANC control cable x1: for LANC remote connection
- Power cable x1: for camera power supply(EX-3/EX-1)
- Power cable x1: for camera power supply
- PS-570 Tally in cable x1:
- Tally cable to connect to another base station x1
- 3 pin AC power cable for DS-560

Is a return video monitor is supplied?

Yes. LVM-89W (8.9 inches LCD monitor) with VBS, HD component and HDMI input I/F is supplied.

Are there any DC power outputs on the DS-260?

Yes, there are three outputs.
4-pin XLR connector(DC 15 V, 3.5 A), mini 4-pin connector(DC 15 V and 8.4 V, 2 A) for a camcorder and 6-pin connector(DC 15 V, 2 A) for the LVM-89W are provided.

What is the maximum power supply from DS-260?

- 4-pin XLR connector : DC 15 V, 3.5 A max., approx. 53 W
- mini 4-pin connector : DC 15 V and 8.4 V, 2 A max. , approx. 30 W
- 6- pin connector : DC 15 V, 2 A max. , approx. 30 W
Total approx. 75 W maximum
- Approx 60W for accessories except for PMW-EX3 (75W – 13.5W for PMW-EX3)
The value may depend on the operational circumstances, temperature, 26-pin cable length, accessories connected to it and so on.

How can I attach the DS-260 to a tripod?

DS-260 can be attached directly to the Sony optional tripod adaptor VCT-14 or VCT-U14.

Are there any tally on/off switches on the DS-260?

Yes. Individual ON/OFF switches for the front and rear Tally indicators are provided.

How many headsets can I connect to the NIPROS/S26 system?

- x1 to the DS -260

Note: The NIPROS/S26 includes 2 headsets, one for DS-260 and the other one for DS-560.

Is it possible for customers to adjust the intercom volume level separately?

Yes, individual headphone level , microphone level and SIDE TONE level controls are provided for each.

Is the camera adaptor DS-260 water proof?

No. Neither is DS-560.

Can I operate the DS-560 with a local DC power?

No. DS-0560 operates only with AC.

What happens if the 26-pin multi-cable is detached from the DS-560, socket, while the power of DS-560 is ON?

The entire signal including power supply is shut off.

Is it safe to disconnect or connect the 26-pin cable while the power of the DS-560 is ON?

Yes, but not recommended.

While the DS-560 and DS-260 is powered by AC, can we connect the EX camcorder powered by BP-30/60 battery? Will there be any damage to the system?

No problem, but it may consume the power of the camera battery.

Can I use AC 240V power supply for this system?

Yes.Yes, the system automatically applies to the input voltage. The input voltage range is 85V to 245V.

Dose this camera adaptor have TC In and TC Out?

While using camera remote controller, can we jam the TC generator?

Yes.

Although the TC signal is connected, the camera is not synchronized, why?

Please make sure that TC setting on the camera is to be FREE RUN.
And when the TC signal is input to DS-560 and output from DS-460, make sure that the cables are connected. When the TC signal is input to the DS-460 and output from DS-560,
make sure that the cables are connected and the TC OUT select switch is set to the TC OUT position.

My camera remote controller: RM-B150/ 750, MR-B1000 connected to DS-560 does not work, why?

Please make sure that the camera remote cable is connected firmly between the camera and DS-260.

How many HD-SDI Iinput and output does this system have?

No.
DS-560 has one HD-SDI input (through output ×2) and one HD-SDI RET input (through output ×2) .

When connecting plural DS-560, do we have to connect each tally cable of all the DS-560 to a switcher?

No. One DS-560 which connected to switcher can get up to 5 Tally signals. You can make cascading connection using the supplied tally cables.

Can I connect DS-560 to a CCU?

Yes, but not to all CCU. So please check the compatibility first.

Is it possible to feed DS- 560 the audio signals form an external mixer via the INTERCOM EXT LINE of the DS-560?

Yes, it is. By using 4-wire input on the DS-560, it can receive the audio from the mixer.
The input audio signal level can be adjusted by the INTERCOM EXT LINE volume on the front panel.

Is it possible for the NIPROS/S26 system to be operated under the 32°F(0℃)?

No, it is not. Required operating temperature for NIPROS/S26 system is +32 to 104F° (0℃ to 40℃).
If operating the system below +32F°, we recommend using a warm-up bag but we can not guarantee the operation.

Is it possible to extend connecting a 26-pin multi-cable in series?

No.

How do we store the 26-pin cable?

When disconnecting the cable from the NIPROS/V26 system, cover the connector of the cable and the CAMERA connector of the DS-460 and DS-560 with the caps equipped with cable and NIPROS system immediately.
Always clean the cable, following the cable manufacturer’s instruction.

Is the 26-pin multi-cable water proof?

Any caution for transportation or operation?

This system is a precision instrument and must be handled with care. Continuous vibrations or a strong impact may damage the system.

Can I control the PMW-EX3 from a switcher?

The EX-3 is designed for operation with the Sony remote control unit : RM-B750 or RM-B150.

It is 85V 2.5A. Maximum is 240V 1A.
The required DC power depends on the 26-pin multi-cable length.

DC16.8V ##A 330ft. (100 m; SONY CCZ-A100)
If customers use the optional cable which we do not guarantee, an excessive power loss may happen and cause the error or drive disability and so on.
